Hi There, okay really really sorry that I didn't get back to you last week like I promised - but it's after 1am Wednesday morning and I'm posting, so I must be dedicated in some weird way!!!!
We have actually had drama after drama with our silly old dial-up internet service. Last week we had amazing storms, dial-up either won't connect or stay connected for more than a few minutes (very frustrating when trying to blog), gale force winds (also expected for tomorrow, hence the reason for blogging now) also seem to interfere. Alas our hopes and dreams of ADSL2 are now dashed as we live in a semi-rural area and when the "powers that be" nominated the amount of lines for our township, they fell short of the demand a few years down the track. I think our only hope now is to apply for a satellite service, something to look into over winter I suppose.
Anyway I've been madly stitching away, it's the school holidays here in Victoria, so Jessica and I have been chilling out at home, which has allowed lots of DVDs, leggo constructions, cooking and oodles of cuddles on the couch - speaking of couches, our little family of 3 (plus one dog who believes he has more rights to the couches than us) currently survive with 2 x 2 seaters in our family room. I tend to take up one couch for myself and my sewing (the other 2+1 are afraid of needles in the butt) and Jessica and Farmer Rowe share the other - so on Sunday we dragged himself down to Knox City (the major shopping mall nearest our town) and tried out a larger version of seating for our little family. Boy that's hard to make a decision - we came home to make newspaper patterns to lay out on the floor, only to find that the shop is obviously MUCH bigger than our room, so we'll still have to settle for something on the small size - and then we found out that it will take at least 12 weeks to have it made! So I'm hoping before winter is over I'll be able to have something lovely to cosy up on in front of the fire and stitch away with my family (minus the dog, so if you have any tips on how to untrain a dog to take over a couch I'd be grateful).
So what have I been stitching. Well I did a special stitchery for Darlene of Bee Sew Whimsical. I think you might recall that she has a monthly newsletter (free) which she emails out with lots of exclusive specials, a project and a featured designer - and this month IT'S ME!!!! So if you like this ...
Then go and sign up quickly on her blog HERE and get your own FREE Stitchery Pattern. I think I may have slipped up and not given any thread colours, but I've used DMC Perle 8 throughout, you could do it all in one colour (red would look gorgeous), or in a variety like my sample. Everything is in backstitch, running stitch or french knots - the hearts are just outlined in back stitch then filled in "aka satin stitch". The frame is one that I picked up at a Garage Sale for about $1, but I'm sure you could finish it off any way you like. I chose the saying for Darlene, as she is very good with the ESP and sending me warm and fuzzy emails just when I need them, definitely a heart hugger - she's also one of the many Angels in my life, so stay tuned for another stitchery!!!
Okay I've just realised it's WAY WAY past my bedtime, so I'll take some snaps tomorrow of my other stitchings and try and get back to you in between gale force winds .... aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh .... hope all your connections are in place, Janet xxx

The Boy hard to make a conclusion - we came dwelling to make bulletin patterns to lay out on the floor, only to find that the shop is conspicuously MUCH larger than our room, so we'll still have to resolve for certain thing on the little size

the world puts off its mask of vastness to its lover.
it becomes small as one song, as one kiss of the eternal.

Love your patterns. Went to pick up my 3rd copy of Irish Quilting and the series has stopped. I hope all is well with your and your family. Will you be putting the Irish Quilt from Secret Stitches Series in a pattern to purchase. Mine is half finished, what a beautiful piece it will be when it is finished. Thank you.

Janet, I've just finished flicking through the new Country Threads, & I just love the timber cotton spools. I tried to email you but it didn't happen. I've just got a new pc and it's got Vista.... I'm an XP windows girl, so it's a bit different
